1. What is the history of Domaine Landreau?
Domaine Landreau is a family-run estate located in Criteuil-la-Magdeleine, in the heart of Grande Champagne, the premier cru of the AOC Cognac. For six generations, the family has cultivated and produced Cognac, Pineau des Charentes, wines without geographical indication, and non-alcoholic sparkling grape juice on its own vineyard, preserving the traditional Charentais know-how.
2. How does Domaine Landreau preserve its family expertise?
Domaine Landreau, passed down from generation to generation since 1850, places great importance on preserving and transmitting its family expertise. Every step of production—from grape growing, winemaking, distillation, and aging to blending—is carried out on-site, ensuring the quality and authenticity of each Cognac, Pineau des Charentes, or wine. The family also trains new generations to maintain traditional methods while innovating, guaranteeing that the estate’s heritage and excellence endure over time.
3. What products does Domaine Landreau offer?
The estate offers:
- Cognacs (VS, VSOP, XO, XXO, Âge d’Or, Réserve d’Émile) made exclusively from Ugni Blanc grown in Grande Champagne.

- Wines without geographical indication, red and rosé, since 2024.
- Non-alcoholic sparkling rosé grape juice since 2025.
4. What makes Landreau Cognacs special?
All Cognacs are produced entirely on-site: from grape growing to winemaking, distillation, and aging. They reflect the chalky-clay terroir of Grande Champagne, with flavor profiles ranging from the fresh liveliness of young blends to the complexity of older blends such as Âge d’Or and the centennial Réserve d’Émile.
5. What is a Pineau des Charentes?

6. Does the estate have an environmental approach?
Yes. Domaine Landreau is committed to responsible viticultural practices aimed at preserving the soil, biodiversity, and quality of the terroir. The vineyard is HVE level 3 certified (High Environmental Value), an official recognition for estates that minimize their environmental impact, promote biodiversity, and optimize water and input management. This approach reflects the estate’s goal of producing authentic spirits while sustainably respecting its Grande Champagne terroir.
